Pages Unfold at Storybook Park

The Washington County Public Library sponsors the event and worked more than a year to put it on.

Kids come register and get a free book of their choice before hitting up all the park has to offer.

There are different stations set up for each book complete with story teller and life size cutouts.

Volunteers work long and hard to make this a special day for the kids and their families.

"Today is about family and having fun. Being a librarian we think reading is very important, we think family is very important and this is how we try to contribute to the community. But offering the stories, crafts that are available and other things to stimulate the children. So we're trying to broaden their interests in things they may not know anything about," says Youth Service Manager Julie Stacy.

Its been four years since the last Storybook Park. Organizers say fundraising was a problem, but hope to continue this program in the future.
