Who should run the pools?
That was briefly debated Tuesday night by Parkersburg City Council.
Council approved a new contract with a private company to manage the city's swimming pools.
But it came after a lot of discussion about the costs and restrictions of taking a dip in those pools in the summertime.
For example patrons are not allowed to bring their own snacks and council members have heard complaints about the concession stand costs.
Mayor Bob Newell says council is free to revisit those rules.
Mike Bishman, whose company manages the pools, says it is just carrying out restrictions that have been set by the city itself.
