The morning commute in and out of Marietta will be a little smoother for motorists this fall.
Marietta Mayor Michael Mullen says a new grant totaling $400,000 will help pave 16 roads throughout the city. He adds that although some construction work may aggravate motorists, he knows the improvements will be welcomed by city commuters and residents.
"I think this is a great use of very highly leveraged money, Mayor Mullen says. "In these days of very finite local resources if we can take $1 and turn it into hundreds of dollars than that's a good return on our value and we'll keep using that mode of operation every time."
Mayor Mullen says he hopes to have the project will be complete this fall.
