PPD Arrest Fugitive Wanted out of Athens County

Parkersburg Police arrested Joshua Wilson early Wednesday afternoon. Wilson is a wanted fugitive out of Athens County, Ohio.

He's wanted for trafficking heroin in that area.

Detectives spotted Wilson on 16th Street and St. Marys Avenue at about noon Wednesday. He attempted to run, but was arrested on site.

Parkersburg police detectives have continued the search for Wilson since he was last seen in the area Monday afternoon.

Wilson is awaiting extradition to Athens County. He's not facing any charges in Wood County.

At about 3:15 Monday afternoon Parkersburg Police detectives went into 1004 West Virginia Avenue to search for a man wanted out of Athens County, Ohio.

Once inside the home, detectives found what they call a "one bottle" methamphetamine cook.

Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force agents then obtained a search warrant. While executing the warrant they also found reaction vessels, gas generators, an instant cold pack and lithium batteries.

Police arrested Clifford Batten on a felony charge of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab.

He's in the Wood County Holding Center awaiting arraignment.

Since May 19th, six people have been arrested on outstanding warrants at this West Virginia Avenue home.

Law enforcement agencies are still looking for Athens County fugitive Joshua Wilson. Wilson, also known as "Sticks", is wanted for trafficking heroin and was seen in Parkersburg as recently as Monday afternoon.
