Some Washington County students are getting a sobering lesson about the dangers of drink and driving on prom night.
Local authorities, including police, fire, and EMS crews, held a demonstration showing students what could happen if they choose to drink and drive. Officials say they hope the drama of it all will hit home with the students.
"Well, hopefully, we've been able to make a statement this morning. Hopefully, we were able to tell these students that if you were, God forbid, going to drink don't get behind the wheel," says Officer A.J. Linscott, with the Marietta Police Department. "Do not get behind the wheel if someone has been drinking. And hopefully, we've been able to touch some people this morning."
Frontier High School will have a similar demonstration on Friday.
