The Parkersburg and Wood County Libraries, Regional Airport, and Veteran's Museum have come together to propose a five year levy.
This levy would give these services a larger budget through taxes.
"On a house that is appraised for $100,000, market value, the taxes generated would be $13.68 but also taxed on personal property," says the Wood County Assessor, Rich Schaffer. "There will be a little bit of an impact but these services are worthwhile for our community."
Schaffer says this levy would allow these services to have a source of money that they previously did not receive to provide them with more resources and maintenance.
