Pulling A Sweat For Kids Who Are Mentally and Physically Challenged

People in Belpre got quite the aerobics workout Saturday afternoon, and at the same time they were exercising they were also supporting a great cause.

Workers from the Hopewell Health Center held a fundraiser to support children who are physically and mentally challenged.

People came out to the Belpre Church of Christ to participate in a zumbathon and basket bingo in-effort to expand the health facility's Children's Summer Program.

Workers say the goal of the fundraiser is to promote awareness of physical and emotional mental health in our community and have some fun too.

"We're going to be able to provide fun physical and recreational activities as a part of our summer group program. It gets the children interested in both physical and mental health very early in life and that's important, we want to start habits so they can continue for the rest of their lives," Hopewell Health Center Clinic Director, Helen Kousaleos.

People also had the chance to win great prizes in a raffle drawing.

The health center is hoping to raise as much as $1,000 from this year's events.
