The Mid-Ohio Valley Veteran Outreach held a veteran's picnic at the VFW Post 5108 in Marietta Saturday afternoon.
Area veteran associations were there to lend a helping hand to those serving our country or retired.
It's an opportunity to network with other veterans and learn more about programs benefitting veterans.
With programs, resources and information at their convenience.
There was also free food and a play area for the kids.
"A lot of people don't know what benefits they're eligible for and we're hoping to reach out to them so to speak to come here and learn what we can do for you cause a lot of people had no idea what benefits they do have from the veteran organizations," says Marietta Mayor, Joe Matthews.
American Legion 14, Parkersburg Vet Center and the Patriot Guard were among the organizations in attendance.
