UPDATE: Woman Arrested in Stabbing Incident

A woman is arrested after police say she stabbed her brother during an argument over cigarettes.

Parkersburg Police responded to a stabbing just before 5 Wednesday morning at 1713 Staunton Avenue.

Officers found 31-year-old Jeremy Collins sitting on the ground with a large amount of blood underneath him.

Collins was trying to use his pajama pants to stop the bleeding from a stab wound to his inner right thigh.

Police say Collins had an argument over cigarettes with Sherry Ann Parsons, his sister who lives in the same house.

Police say Parsons stabbed Collins with a large steak knife.

Parsons was arrested on a felony charge of malicious wounding.

She was processed and arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court, where she failed to post a $100,000 bond.

She is currently in the Wood County Holding Center awaiting transport to the North Central Regional Jail.

Collins was taken by ambulance to Camden Clark Medical Center for treatment.

He has since been treated and released.

It was reported on the scanner the man stabbed is Jeremy Collins. Collins was taken to the hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.

A reported stabbing on Staunton Ave. in Parkersburg. Dispatchers say it happend around 5:00 Wednesday morning.

Witnesses tell dispatchers the sister stabbed the man. The condition of the man is unknown.

Parkersburg Police are investigating.
