Retiring After 40 Years Of Great Service To Wood County Schools

Saying farewell to a long time leader in the Wood County School District.

Assistant Superintendent of School Services, Sue Woodward officially retired Wednesday.

Woodward is calling it quits after 40 years of doing great things for the students and schools of Wood County.

Six others from the district are also retiring after putting in more than 30 years.

Woodward says that she will be serving as a substitute teacher and administrator during her retirement.

"I'm leaving the job but I'm not leaving the people cause they'll always be my friends and family. When you spend 40 years someplace, you get a lot of close relationships and those never go away," says Woodward.

Current Neale Elementary School Principal, Mike Fling, will be Woodward's replacement in the coming months.
