Hundreds of community members flocked to the Washington County fair grounds Saturday to celebrate the July 4th and support the local economy.
For thirteen years the River City Farmers Market has been a staple in the community for the fourth of July weekend.
This year was no different with dozens of vendors and live entertainment, the Farmers Market packed in a crowd and organizers say people come from all over the state to support the weekly event.
"It's kind of funny, we've get a lot of people from Parkersburg, from Athens. We even have people come clear from Akron, every Saturday, to come to this market. All over the state of Ohio,"says Gary Smith, President of the River City Farmers Market. "It's really exciting to be here because you get people who tell you they feel at home here."
The farmers market is open all year round but in the winter months vendors move indoors.
