Firefighters battle a fire on Fifth Street in Marietta just hours after responding to a separate house fire Monday. The fire broke out at about 10:30 p.m.

The homeowner was inside watching the Pittsburgh Steelers game when he smelled smoke. Minutes later flames surrounded the house.

Neighbors could see smoke billowing from block away. No one was injured, but the damage presents a very real hardship for the family. They have a daughter who lives with them part-time and goes to nursing school. The homeowner says they have no other family in the area.

Marietta fire investigators are looking for the cause of the fire.
