A local hospital has been deemed one of the best in the country for joint or knee replacements.
Selby Hospital in Marietta was ranked within the top 15 percent in the nation for that type of procedure. It was ranked sixth in the state of Ohio.
The study was done by a hospital ratings organization that looks at patient complications and mortality.
"I think the top reason we got the award is nursing care. The nurses do a wonderful job, the patients are very receptive to the nurses and the nurses love being there," said Greg Krivchenia, orthopedic surgeon.
Memorial Hospital System employees also say that moving joint and knee replacements to Selby helped them win the award because the space offers recovery and physical therapy under the same roof.
It's also only one level, so patients can easily move around.
