Senator Joe Manchin says "no" to an Obama administration nominee.
And that may sink the nomination of Ron Binz as head of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Sen. Manchin is a member of the Senate Energy Committee, which questioned Binz in a day-long hearing Tuesday.
He says Binz gives priority to renewable energy over more available sources, such as coal.
Sen. Manchin is considered one of two "swing votes" needed to move Binz' nomination to a vote by the full Senate.
