A Mason County man is taken to the hospital, after he's shot in the leg by a sheriff's deputy.

It happened around 7:00 Friday night along Route 2, south of Gallipolis Ferry.

State troopers say the man refused to get out of his car.

But when he finally did, investigators say he pulled out some kind of weapon.

That's when the Mason County Sheriff's Deputy shot the unidentified man.

He was taken to a hospital in Huntington.

He's expected to recover.

The investigation continues.
