A man just mowing the lawn was shot Friday night. He says a neighbor did it. Saturday, police made an arrest.

George Hartness Jr. was arrested. He's charged with felony malicious wounding.

The victim, Robert Taitt, was cutting grass on a riding mower on Wilson Street Friday evening.

Police say Hartness came to the front door of his house, across the street, and fired a pellet rifle toward the victim.

A pellet hit Taitt in his left side, just missing his heart.

Police say Hartness was upset with Taitt in the past for blowing grass and rocks on his car.

The suspect is behind bars Saturday after failing to post a 40 thousand dollar bond.

Taitt was taken to the hospital. There's no word on his condition Saturday, although police believe his injuries aren't life threatening.

There was a shooting this evening is Parkersburg.

The call came into police with a complaint of a possible gun-shot wound. The victim was mowing the lawn and claimed the neighbor shot him. The victim does not live at the house.

Chief Martin has confirmed that it was a shooting. The victim was transported to the hospital.

The police have two suspects in the case, one being the shooter. Both are being interviewed tonight and police say they expect the victim will be able to identify the shooter. The motive is still being investigated.
