Shopping on Thanksgiving

Many stores are following in the footsteps of Christmas by staying open on another holiday, Thanksgiving.

It's a new trend that some feel is a good idea, while others think people should just be with their loved ones on Thanksgiving - not working.

"No, I don't think it's a good thing because holidays are for families and they should all be home with their families," says Jean Fury.

"It certainly is convenient and we prefer to shop at smaller, local run stores than the larger chains," says Brian Leonard. "But we try to make sure that we do all of our shopping before."

Leonard says he wouldn't be disappointed if smaller stores like Foodland decided to close on the holidays for their employees.
