UPDATE: 4/15/11 9:00PM

Shortly after 6:00 Friday evening, crews responded to a single vehicle accident near the Blennerhassett Island Bridge.

Deputy Tennant with the Wood County Crash Team says 52-year old Roy Collins of Washington, West Virginia was driving eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he crossed into the westbound lane, then went back into the eastbound lane and overturned the vehicle.

He says Collins' vehicle hit the guard rail and he died from impact.

Crews quickly shut down traffic and kept the road closed for about an hour and a half.

The crash team does not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.

The investigation continues.
