The bike path in Marietta is an ongoing project that sometimes needs more attention than the city can give.
On Saturday volunteers and Girl Scouts went to work making it more beautiful.
They're digging up old grass and planting new flowers for the spring season.
Volunteers says it's part of their civic duty to give back to such a great community. And these Girl Scouts are one step closer to getting a badge.
"They're working on their bronze award project and it's a community service project that they get to pick. They had to look around their community and see what there was a need to do. They noticed that there was a lot of trash and it has to be a sustainable project so they decided that they would adopt this section and they have big plans for us over the next couple of months and what we're going to do with our section," says Girls Scout Leader Nikki Burchett.
The cleanup project will continue through the spring.
