Students Get Lesson On Ending Bullying, Accepting Diversity

Nine out of ten 4th through 8th graders are bullied on a daily basis.

Marietta Middle School students learned about these startling statistics Friday along with many other ways to accept diversity and end bullying.

Marietta College's McDonough Leadership Program put on a seminar Friday for the eighth graders, splitting up the boys in the morning and the girls Friday afternoon.

The students listened to an interactive presentation, participating in many activities creating awareness about bullying.

The school counselor explains how this is a big issue throughout middle school so these type of awareness events help the kids.

They also focused on diversity, learning how to accept everyone's differences.

Leadership students explained how the Mid-Ohio Valley is one of the least diverse places in the United States.
