Surplus of Food Donated by First Energy

"The city of Parkersburg and the Wood County Board of Education partnered today to pick up and delivered several pallets of frozen, refrigerated, and canned foods to local food banks.

The food was donate by First Energy. First Energy set up a staging area for workers coming to our city to restore electrical service. To feed workers, they set up a large food operation at Erickson field. The pallets of food were left over as they closed the camp.

The city arranged the pickup and equal distribution of food to several food pantries with the help of the food services department of the BOE. You may get further info by contacting fire chief Eric Taylor and Sue Woodward at the BOE."
