Parkersburg residents got their taste buds on at the third annual "Great Bowls of Fire" Chili Cook off at Point Park Saturday afternoon.
Anyone with an appetite had the chance to taste chili recipes from nearly 40-area vendors.
The event was sponsored by the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The chili was judged by several locals including Parkersburg Police Chief, Joe Martin.
"Well this year, we added a mayor's competition and we have four mayors that are competing, we have the mayor of Parkersburg, Vienna, Belpre and North Hills and they're vying for bragging rights on who has the best chili," says Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce President, Jill Parsons.
Part of the proceeds from the chili cook off will benefit the Civic Fellows Program through the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation.
