A teenage boy from Akron was killed in an accident at the Singing Hills Youth Camp in Wirt County.
WTAP News confirmed his name as Andrew Michael Gouchenour. He was 14.
According to his obituary, Michael is survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
The mother of another camper at the Singing Hills Youth Camp tells WTAP News the fatal accident happened Friday.
She says the teen was riding on a wagon down to a creek, when somehow his arm became caught in the wagon wheel. He was pulled under the wagon and run over. He suffered a severe head injury.
He was airlifted to a hospital, where he later died.
The state police is handling the investigation, and believes what happened was accidental.
We reached the lawyer representing the church camp, who would only confirm there is an investigation into what happened.
The church camp has operated at the Singing Hills site for 25 years.
