A three vehicle accident along Emerson Avenue blocked motorists for almost an hour Sunday afternoon.

According to officials at the Wood County Sheriff's Office, a chain reaction caused the three car pile up that blocked traffic for 45 minutes.

Officials say the first car involved was turning into a driveway as the car behind it slowed down when the driver of the third car, Raymond Monroe, rear ended the second car. The second car then hit the first car.

Monroe has been cited for failure to maintain his vehicle. Officials say driver inattention is one of the contributing factors in the accident.

No one was injured.
