West Virginia Division of Highways officials are re-routing motorists on Interstate-77 Thursday.
The traffic detour is to allow workers to pave the bridge approaches at the City Beer Overpass Bridge.
The detours started Thursday morning for southbound motorists.
The signed detour is from I-77 southbound at exit 170 in Mineral Wells to WV 14 to Wood County Route 21 with re-entry at Rockport at exit 161.
Once work is completed on the southbound lanes, work will begin no the northbound lanes.
Northbound travelers will be re-routed on I-77 at Rockport exit 161 to Wood County Route 21 to WV 14 with re-entry on I-77 at Mineral Wells at exit 170.
The WVDOH says motorists should expect some delays.
Both lanes are expected to be open to drivers by this evening.
