UPDATE: Athens County Drug Offender Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

An Athens County man is sentenced to six years in prison for drug trafficking and theft.

26-year-old Justin Hutchinson of Albany was arrested in January for having over eleven grams of heroin and trafficking heroin from his home.

There were two children in the home at the time.

Prior to that arrest, a search warrant of his home turned up a fully loaded syringe along with heroin residue on a spoon.

Authorities say Hutchinson also stole multiple TVs and DVD players from the Athens Walmart.

In addition to the prison sentence his license will be suspended for four years, and he faces five years of post release control.

Narcotic enforcement team detectives arrest two for drug trafficking in Athens County.

According to Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly detectives on Thursday seized over 11 grams of heroin syringes and scales from a home on Lee Street in Albany, where there were also two children present.

26-year-old Justin Hutchinson and 22-year-old Melissa Schoon were both charged with trafficking in heroin with children present - a felony.

Athens County Children Services took custody of the children.

Hutchinson and Schoon were transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
