Two Arrested on Drug Charges, One Tries to Run

Two men were arrested Saturday on felony drug charges.

It happened during a traffic stop on St. Marys Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Police say James Johnson was a passenger in the car. Johnson had 29 grams of cocaine and 20 Oxycontin pills. He also had $680 cash.

He's charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Police also say Tumarcus Stelle was in the backseat of the car. He had a bag in his sock with 14 individually wrapped plastic bags. Police say cocaine and heroin were inside those bags. He also had $560 cash.

He's charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Steele was a fugitive from justice out of Washington County for two counts of trafficing in drugs, specifically cocaine.

But that's not all. Police say while Steele was being processed at police headquarters he managed to escape the building.

He got away during a trip to the bathroom. He was captured quickly in the 600 block of 7th street.

Steele's now also charged with felony escape.
