Two Men Arrested For Athens County Thefts

Two men are behind bars accused of stealing from an electric contracting company in Athens County.

Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly says on Saturday a witness saw two men stealing wiring from Karl Electric on Hebbardsville Road. Hes says about three thousand dollars of aluminum and electrical wire was stolen.

While patrolling the area, deputies found the two men a short time later. Brandon Masters and Jerry Smith were arrested.

Masters is also accused of stealing scrap metal from Cochrans on State Route 33, a situation injuring Lt. Steve Sedwick.

Smith has a warrant out for his arrest. He's accused of stealing a purse last week in Chauncey.

Both men are charged with felony breaking and entering and theft.
