UPDATE 12/2/2013 5:00 PM

A man accused of impregnating a teenager pleads guilty.

24-year-old Shane Dye of Newport is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old in 2011.

Investigators say Dye now has a baby with the teen.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says they believe Dye and another man frequented parties in the area, engaging in sex with young girls.

Both men are from Newport, Ohio, and both were arrested Monday on charges related to sexual conduct involving teenage girls. Both men are said to have met 15-year old girls at parties, at least one of which was in Newport. One of the victims is believed to have had a child as a result of sexual relations with one of the suspects, Shane Dye.

"He had sex in July, 2011 with a female, and, according to DNA, impregnated her," says Sheriff Larry Mincks. "We also obtained information (suspect Devin) Binegar may have had sex with this same girl at some time in the past several months."

Binegar has been a substitute teacher at Frontier High School, although Frontier Local Superintendent Bruce Kidder says there are no reports of inappropriate activity there involving Binegar and students. Binegar is free on bond while dye was being held Tuesday at the Washington County Jail.

"A judge saw probable cause to issue an arrest warrant, and the subjects were arrested," the sheriff says. "They are now entitled to due process of law, and they are not determined guilty until that process goes through."

But Superintendent Kidder says Binegar is being removed from the list the school system keeps of potential substitutes.

The sheriff's office believes Binegar and Dye have both gone to parties in the area also attended by teenage girls, and may have had sexual activity with other underage females.

Anyone with information on such activities is asked to contact Detective Kevin Hornbeck at 740-376-7070.
