Area high school communities came together Thursday evening to remember two local teens lost in one week.
Hundreds gathered at Parkersburg South to remember 14-year-old Madison Fitchett and 17-year-old Derek Scott.
Fitchett died after a car accident early Sunday morning.
Scott passed away Wednesday after a car accident on Stillwell Road.
Parkersburg South's Principal Tom Eschbacher says the week has been filled with great sadness and soul searching and adds that this is a time to reflect on something that many teenagers may forget.
"Decisions are so important," Principal Eschbacher says. "We preach to kids every single day that the decisions they make right now could very well have a lasting impact from now on. Some of the consequence for those decisions are death. Its kind of what we've been talking about and what we've been dealing with."
Family members said they were touched at the response from the two high schools and that they appreciate all the kind thoughts and prayers.
