United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley swung into high gear with a campaign kick-off breakfast to benefit the whole community.
The goal of the campaign is to raise $730,000.
Dr. Marie Foster Gnage, chair of the alliance says the money raised here stays here.
“(It) will help to support the promoting of the well-being of children, creating opportunities of all individuals to have quality of life and certainly strengthening and preserving the family unit,” Gnage says.
She adds that it's a coincidence that the campaign is kicking-off on September 11, but there is also some purpose.
When you think about that fateful day, Gnage says many people needed help and United Ways across the country were there.
