Morgantown, W.Va. (AP) -- Former President Bill Clinton wants West Virginians to get beyond anger and frustration and send Democrat Joe Manchin to Washington to do what he's done as Governor -- fix problems.
Clinton is the last Democratic Presidential candidate the state supported, and his appearance in Morgantown Monday was aimed at energizing the base in a tight U.S. Senate race against Republican John Raese.
Raese paints Manchin as a rubber stamp for President Barack Obama.
But Clinton urged the crowd to "look at the game tape" on Manchin, who balanced budgets, cut deficits and fixed broken systems like workers' compensation and public pensions
Clinton says Manchin has done just what disenchanted voters now want Washington to do.
