Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- Gov. Joe Manchin has scheduled his final public speech as West Virginia's Chief Executive.
Before he heads to the U.S. Senate, Manchin is giving a Friday farewell address at his Capitol reception room.
Topics of the 10 a.m. Address will include his six years as Governor, and the challenges he sees ahead in Washington.
First Lady Gayle Manchin, cabinet secretaries and other administration staff are all expected to attend.
The 63-year-old Democrat won last week's election for the seat held by the late Sen. Robert C. Byrd. Manchin heads to Capitol Hill once results are certified. That could happen as early as Friday.
