Wahama Football Coach Retires Following Administrative Leave

Ed Cromley is leaving the Wahama High School football coaching post after 18 and a half seasons on the job and one state championship to his credit.

According to a Wahama booster member, Cromley was placed on administrative leave this week and retired.

No word from school administration or Coach Cromley on what led to his retirement

Wahama Principal Kenny Bond has appointed Dave Barr as interim head coach for the rest of the season.

Barr has been an assistant on the Wahama staff and has previous head coaching experience.

Cromley had an incredibly successful career with the White Falcons with a record of 154 wins and 60 losses, plus a state championship along with several conference championships.

A booster tells WTAP News head coach Ed Cromley was placed on administrative leave and retired.

Calls to the school principal and the school board weren't returned.
