The Washington County Salvation Army will start taking Christmas assistance application, Tuesday, October 9. They will accept applications until December 7, after that the family will be added to a waiting list.
The office is located at 136 Front Street in Marietta.
All those applying must bring all of the following: proof of income, photo i.d., birth certificate for those children 12 and under, a letter or bill with name and address, and in some cases custody papers.
They will also be taking applications for bell ringers and volunteers. Those applying most provide a social security card and a photo i.d.
The Salvation Army expects Angel Trees to start around mid- November
