While new Ohio legislation waits to become law, Marietta has decided to enact their own form of the law to try to prevent bath salts and like drugs from being sold or used within city limits.
So last night Sheriff's Officers were making regular traffic stops and finding some illegal drugs along the way.
"What it does..it will saturate the area in the different areas of the blitz and it cuts down on traffic infractions and adds to public safety," Sergeant Hornbeck stated.
The team uncovered K-2 and other substances using a drug dog, but were not able to arrest the alleged purchasers of the drug because it is still considered legal outside of Marietta City Limits.
And when the legislation passes, they'll be able to enforce the law in cities all across Ohio and not just Marietta.
