The Williamstown Community comes together to support the 2012 Relay For Life.
The annual Relay For Life is underway in Williamstown and will be until 6:00 A.M. Saturday morning. As with all Relay events the goal is to raise money and awareness to fight cancer. Proceeds help the American Cancer Society fund much needed research and there wouldn't be proceeds without a supportive community.
"Williamstown traditionally supports anything the community needs to do," explains Relay organizer Elaine Bender. "Whether it's sports, or kids, or any kind of cultural event, or any kind of event such as what we're doing today. They're really great about standing behind us."
Organizers say they've raised almost half of their goal so far and are confident the community will continue to support Relay through the end of August.
