UPDATE: Motorcycle Rider In Intensive Care After Accident

A 20-year old man from Elizabeth is in the hospital with serious injuries after an accident involving a motorcycle.

West Virginia State Police Sergeant W.K. Marshall said a pickup truck pulled out of a driveway onto State Route 14 when a motorcycle traveling south, hit the truck and partially went under it.

The motorcycle rider, Adam Metz, was taken by helicopter to Charleston General. He is under evaluation in intensive care.

Metz was reportedly wearing a helmet.

At this time there are no citations and the accident remains under investigation.

The crash happened just north of the Slate Run Road intersection on an incline where there is also a curve in the road.
A 911 center dispatcher says the call came in around 4:45 p.m.

The accident occurred on State Route 14 along the Wirt County line.
