Tuesday's school board meeting started off with a commendation. The Neale Elementary School is now a Title I distinguished school.
But another big announcement came later in the meeting. Assistant Superintendent Sue Woodward plans to retire at the end of this school year.
She says it's been a privilege to work with these students.
"I'm proud of the students that run into me everyday that say 'Hey Mrs. Woodward remember me?' And I look into their eyes and remember who they were. The students who've crossed my life and have made my life full and whole have been the greatest gift, the greatest blessing that anyone could ever have," says Woodward.
Woodward's final day is June 30th. She's looking forward to spending more time with her family.
