The Wood County Board of Education swears in two new members.
Newly elected board members Peggy Smith and James Asbury took their oath of office right before their first meeting.
Smith and Asbury take the places of former members Jim Fox and Tad Wilson.
And after his first official meeting, Asbury says he's looking forward to the upcoming school year.
"To serve at the pleasure of the community and remember that the focus needs to be on the children and to make sure that we have good facilities, the faculty is compensated correctly, and that the kids at the end of the day get the best education we can provide," he says.
Also at Monday night's meeting, John Marlow was chosen as the new board of education president and Lawrence Hasbargen was chosen as vice-president.
