Wood County Ends 2013 on High Note

Some good news as 2013 comes to an end.

Wood County's revenue for the year is ahead of projections.

The county commission spent almost half of 2013 dealing with a tight financial picture.

And if things continue to improve, the commission president hopes it can provide more money to non-governmental agencies who didn't get what they hoped to this past year.

"I would like to go back to having the funds to support these quality of life issues and groups that we have supported in the past," says Commission President Wayne Dunn. "We give a few dollars to their budget, and enable them to do things to leverage that money for many benefits for the community."

Dunn also looks to dealing with concerns like the controversial gun range, with new restrictions which will benefit nearby homeowners, while not affecting people who use the ranges themselves.
