Squeaking by with 60.90 % percent of the vote, the Wood County Library Levy passes.
Wood County Library Director, Brian Raitz says they hope to begin construction for the new southside library soon.
It will be around a ten thousand square foot facility with state of the art technology.
Raitz says it's been a long work in the making, but he hopes the community will continue to support their efforts.
"Access is the key to what I think passed this levy. We're in an aging demographic and that's the reason why we needed the entrance moved at the Emerson Library. We weren't accessible for many people on the southside of the county. With the electronic age, and building that up, we've been working really hard on that this last year."
On average, tax payers will pay between four and six dollars a year for the next five years to fund the levy.
The Emerson Library will get a handicap accessible entrance.
Library hours will also increase, and they hope to be able to use more interaction with school libraries.
