Wood/Washington Heart Walk

Updated: Sat 11:55 PM, Oct 06, 2012

The greater Parkersburg community shows their support for individuals and survivors leading a heart healthy life at the 2012 Wood-Washington Heart Walk at City Park.

The American Heart Association set a goal of $45,000 and hope to reach 500 to 1,000 people this year.

"I had two heart attacks. I have a pacemaker and it really changes your life after you've had a heart attack. It's hard to realize that you can't do what you used to do anymore, but I try to keep doing it you know everyday," says Bonnie McBrayer.

McBrayer recommends slowing down, but says heart trouble hasn't stopped her.

Cardiac rehab and lifestyle changes make a difference. At 71 years old, she keeps going and enjoying life.
