The Marietta dog park is... officially open!
Dogs have been playing for a few weeks now and some more work is expected to be done but now the sign is up and organizers say its completely safe and puppy friendly!
It's all been made possible through volunteers and donations.
The park is located at the old Jackson Park in Marietta. It's a caged in fence allowing dogs to run free and play with each other. There are also picnic tables around it.

They're working to get rid of what the group calls an eye sore.
It's Jackson Hill Park in Marietta and step one is nearly complete in making it more family friendly.
Volunteers with the Marietta Community Dog Park organization are working around the clock to put the finsihing touches on a brand new dog park.
It's at the top of Jackson Hill Park off Cisler Road.
In Washington County, there's about twelve thousand registered dogs. Organizers hope this dog park will be a community friendly area for everyone.
"There's a need for it. There are people that don't have a large area for their dog to run. They may live in an apartment. They may want to have a dog but feel they don't have enough space for a dog to run. This will meet their needs.," says organizer, Teresa Hayes.
Volunteers from Lowe's are helping with the fencing around the park and the Washington County Health Department has played a big role in getting the gates open for business.
Grants like the Creating Healthy Communities Grant from the Ohio Department of Health helped pay for the beginning stages of the dog park, but they still need more help.
Organizers hope the free park will be open by the end of October.
They're asking people to not go in the park until the official open date for safety reasons.
