The midnight hour wasn't too close at hand Sunday evening, but creatures crawled across the land at City Park in Parkersburg to support the local food pantries with the Mid-Ohio Valley Ghost Hunters Zombies and Monsters Walk.

"It's great and it's all going for the good. We were asking for one can, and people are coming in here with bags of food to be donated," says Tom Moore, Co-founder of the Mid-Ohio Valley Ghost Hunters. "We got the trailers here and it is just stacking up. It's great to see the community backing us up."

Backing indeed! Hundreds showed up in their Halloween best to give canned goods and monetary donations... and have some fun doing it.

"I feel really good about it, to be able to help people out," participant Denise Ledsome says. "Times are hard these days and people don't have a lot of food in their cabinets. So, that's a big reason why we came."

In addition to supporting the good cause, the queen of Creole Voo-Doo, Marie Laveau, says the walk is to show everyone that a bewitching holiday is a supposed to be fun.

"Gather food for the food cupboards and just to have a very good time," Laveau says. "And, just to show people that Halloween is fun."

A holiday made more fun by helping others.
