Sandusky, Ohio (AP) -- County inspectors say the Ohio water park where a 3-year-old boy drowned Sunday should have more than the minimum number of lifeguards on duty in the future.

Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky bills itself as the nation's largest water park.

It had said staffing levels exceeded compliance on Sunday when Hassan Itani of Dearborn, Michigan, drowned in 3-foot-deep water.

But Erie County Director of Environmental Health Bob England says inspectors found that at times yesterday, the pool area should have had another lifeguard in addition to the minimum of two who were on duty.

Kalahari has agreed to staff the area with three lifeguards in the future.

The state has disciplined Kalahari at least four times since the resort opened in 2005.
