Wheeling, W.Va. (AP) -- The Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston will help mark a transition of leadership at Wheeling Jesuit University.

The most Rev. Michael J. Bransfield will celebrate noon mass on Friday at the Chapel of Mary and Joseph on campus.

University vice president J. Davitt McAteer is replacing the Rev. Julio Giuletti as president on an interim basis.

The university announced Thursday that Guiletti left the school after two years to pursue his ministry as a Jesuit Priest.

A committee will be formed in the coming weeks to search for Wheeling Jesuit's ninth president.

Friday's mass is open to the public.
