Institute, W.Va. (AP) -- A community group plans to hold a vigil on the one-year anniversary of a deadly accident at the Bayer Cropscience plant in Institute.
The group people concerned about mic will conduct the vigil at 7 p.m. Friday at the West Virginia State University Student Union.
Group spokeswoman Maya Nye says a walk with candles around the campus and neighborhood is planned.
The explosion on Aug. 28, 2008, killed two Bayer workers.
The U.S. Chemical Safety Board has said safety lapses contributed to the explosion.
A congressional report said the explosion came close to compromising a tank holding deadly methyl isocyanate.
The board is investigating whether the plant should continue storing mic.
