Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- A study is being conducted in Kanawha County on possible ways to evacuate in case of an emergency.
The Kanawha Putnam Emergency Planning Committee says JH Consulting Llc of Buckhannon will do the study for the emergency services offices in the county and the city of Charleston.
The study is set to be completed by mid-2010 and is being funded by a $50,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The committee says scenarios including chemical accidents and flash flooding will be considered in the study.
