Huntington, W.Va. (AP) -- A grant by the National Science Foundation will extend an initiative at Marshall University to increase the number of female faculty members in certain fields.
The Marshall program was established in 2006 through a Science Foundation Grant.
The $750,000 grant announced Wednesday will extend the program by two years.
The program aims at increasing the number of female faculty members in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Marshall biology professor Marcia Harrison says the latest funds will be use for recruitment, retention and policy efforts.
